Self-Advocacy

The Arc of Opportunity’s Self-Advocacy group is led by individuals with disabilities from within this organization and without. The group is a time for individuals to come together and discuss recent events, legislation, and how changes in the world may affect their families, their friends, and themselves.

Through our Self-Advocacy groups, we create an environment that allows individuals to become influential advocates for themselves as well as advise and assist others to become a strong voice that is heard. The Self-Advocates are also moved to action by attending State and Federal meetings where they have the opportunity to stand up for their rights as well as those who are unable to.

Self-Advocacy Groups are held the second Wednesday of each month at the Arc of Opportunity.

Meetings are offered in-person and online, via Teams.
